Book request can not be made

I just installed LMS and I think its a great software. However, i have encountered some issues. First i noticed that when i make a book request, I do not see any response and no request is made. Secondly, i setup my mail smtp exactly the way i saw it in your demo and it keeps saying error. I used the following setup;
